This holiday is known as National Pop Goes The Weasel Day-a holiday that’s observed annually on June 14th. This is a great day to have some fun with this song with your friends and family. We were unable to uncover the history of National Pop the Weasel Day, so we set our sights on uncovering the history of the song that this holiday celebrates. However, that proved to be a bit difficult as well, as this song’s history hasn’t been well documented. What we do know is that this song most likely began sometime during the 18th century. At some point in time, this dance changed from a fashionable dance song to a nursery rhyme.
