Labour Day and Father's Day Curfew in Trinidad and Tobago


The State has adjusted the curfew hours for this weekend, which holds the Labour Day holiday on Saturday and Father’s Day on Sunday, from 10.02 am t0 5 am the following day.


A document was signed by Police Commissioner Gary Griffith.


Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley had indicated on Saturday that it was likely that the holiday curfew hours would apply to the Labour Day holiday.


Police issued the following statement:


“Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith states that drawing from the regulations which allow for the Commissioner to vary the curfew times, curfew hours for Saturday 19th June 2021, Labour Day, and Sunday 20th June 2021 shall be 10am to 5am on both days.


The Emergency Powers (Variation Curfew Times) (No.2) Order, 2021, states that for the purposes of Saturday 19th June, 2021 and Sunday 20th June, 2021-


(a) the times specified in regulation 3 of the Regulations are varied as follows:


(i) from 5:01 am to 10:01am on Saturday 19th June 2021; and


(ii) from 5:01 am to 10:01am on Sunday 20th June, 2021; and


(b) the curfew times specified in regulation 4 of the Regulations are varied as follows:


(i) from 10:02 am on Saturday 19th June, 2021 to 5:00 am on Sunday 20th June, 2021; and


(ii) from 10:02 am on Sunday 20th June, 2021 to 5:00am on Monday 21st June, 2021.


This order shall come into force on Saturday 19th June, 2021.”
