International Museum Day seeks to raise awareness about museums. Museums can range from art, history, to science. They can provide a fun and interesting way to learn about specific subjects. This day aims to inform the public about the role museums have in educating and providing a learning environment for their communities.
International Museum Day was established in 1977 by the International Council of Museums. It is observed annually on May 18th.
