International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace seeks to preserve the rules and values of international cooperation laid out in the UN charter in 1945. This day aims to tackle global issues such as climate change, geopolitical tensions, and humanitarian crises. It also aims to promote and support the three pillars of the UN which are: peace and security, development, and human rights.
International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy was established in 2018 by the UN General Assembly. It is observed annually on April 24th.
