The International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression was proclaimed by the United Nations General assembly on August 19th of 1982. The observance recognizes the pain that many children suffer during times of war. The UN affirms that during wars, the most vulnerable are always the ones who suffer the most. Children are victims of physical violence, abduction, sexual harassment, and even murder. The United Nations states that they are committed to defend the rights of all children. The International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression occurs yearly on June 4th.
